Memory Verse With Explanation

Genesis 2:24 EASY‬
Because of this, when a man marries, he leaves his father and his mother. Instead, God joins the man and his wife together. The two people become as one body.

We've heard this scripture quoted a million times by marriage counsellors or Pastors at wedding ceremonies, so much so that we can quote it word for word.
Something about this scripture gives us butterflies in our bellies and sends a tingly sensation down our spines as females if you know what i mean *smiles sheepishly*
For the men it is a license to claim ownership over his wife's body and control her entire life, for a woman it is unrestricted access to his resources, exclusive rights to his body and pull him away from his family shenanigans to hers and hers only.

We were told the first thing a man has to acquire before getting a wife is a house, move out of his family's and be self sufficient.
Kissing goodbye to his days on the streets, changing his circle and getting indoctrinated into the married cluster in church.
Getting a fat paying job that can help cater to the needs of his immediate family so on and so forth.
As for the woman, all she needs is good character, impeccable culinary skills, being spectacular at bedmatics, meticulous housekeeping expertise and a pro at raising well behaved children.

Don't get me wrong, these things are good, but just like Jesus said; "Martha Martha you worry about many things, but only one thing is important"
Now what might that thing that takes precedence over the required standard be?
Walk with me shall we?

In order to better understand this scripture we have to first understand what God's idea of marriage is.
When the first man and woman scripture introduced us to were made, they had no family, or extra luggage(responsibilities of other members or friends) to handle. All they had were themselves and an invisible God who paid them visits from time to time. Nothing and no one was vying for their attention like we have in modern times, they didn't struggle to make ends meet as they had all they needed in one place. So why then did scripture speak about leaving their parents to become one flesh?
Could this mean that God wasn't talking about a physical leaving and cleaving but an abstract one?
Man in the time when Adam and Eve were made was a name given to both creations not just the Male. I know a lot of preachers have misquoted this verse to say a man leaves a woman doesn't bla bla bla.. Wrong!!!
If man were to leave and cleave to one another then what exactly are they leaving?

Marriage is more of a soul connection than just a bodily connection. Before a marriage ceremony takes place, our souls have to be in perfect alignment as that is the real marriage God instituted not the one where we stand before our families, friends and "religious" leaders to confess our love for one another.
Therefore shall a man leave(forsaking all other connections he may have internally) and cleave to his wife and both of them becomes one in soul(like-minded) This has nothing to do with awwwn worthy vows,an extravagant wedding ceremony just to be featured on Bellanaija and Asoebibella blogs and social media pages.
The real marriage takes place when we are united in spirit and soul, and contrary to what you have been told, sex isn't the only way this connection happens. In fact the Creator believes this has to take place before showing yourselves to the Priest(Wedding ceremony)

How then does the union between our Souls and Spirits happen without exchanging bodily fluids?
This is what we would be discussing all through the week on Memory Verse With Explanation.
We(The Holy Spirit and I) would be exposing the lies surrounding the concept of marriage that we have believed for a long time and replacing it with the truth.
We hope you come back to tomorrow's verse.

Matthew 9:16-17 NIV‬ [16]  “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. [17] Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”  In this japa(migration) era a lot of content creators have made fortunes off creating migration contents as most Nigerians are either relocating or planning to relocate. If we're being honest out of every 10 friends or family we've heard at least 8 of them speaking enthusiastically about migrating so this isn't news to any of us now is it? But one thing that caught my eye in recent times about this Japa virtual content is the number of views they get per post. I.e "How i relocated to Canada = 200k views in 6days from an account with less than 1k subscribers Ahhhh!! What can they po...

Matthew 6:25-26 NIV‬ [25]  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? [26] Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Since i was born and now i am getting old never have i seen or heard that rats lost weight as a result of food inflation. I have never heard that wall geckos ever ran out of supplies to the point of carrying placards to protest before God. I haven't also seen where wild animals in the jungle like lions and crocodiles ate weeds. They always had their supplies undisrupted.  Animals who were created less than us have since creation been provided for how much more you and i who were made in God's image and likeness? Impatience is not what we suffer from as humans but trust issues is. We fear what...

John 13:26-27 NIV‬ [26] Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. [27] As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”  PART ONE: THE BETRAYER If you live long enough you'll experience the worse kind betrayal that comes from people who are members of your inner circle. One thing about betrayals is that it always comes from people you break bread with. There's a Nigerian proverb that says "Na rat wey dey inside dey tell rat wey dey outside say food dey"(the snitch is always from someone within) I wish it was an outsider, we won't feel as much pain as we do when it comes from someone trusted. I have had people who i broke my back showing up for turnaround to stab me in the worst possible way ever. I wept for months unending, didn't get clo...
