John 13:26-27 NIV
[26] Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. [27] As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
Part two: The Enemies Bait
During the last supper Christ predicts his own death and who would betray him, this is as a result of what happened in the chapter before John 12.
Jesus having great discernment by reason of the Holy Spirit living within him, who quickens his mortal body and tells him things to come was able to spot his betrayer quickly.
He dips the bread into a cup and hands to all his disciples not just one, Matt 26 affirms this. But be careful when you dine with a noble man if your hands are dirty as judgement is passed upon you immediately. All ate the bread but the serpent got into Judas why? He had an opening for the devil to operate in(anger from the previous outing)
Then Jesus says to him on sensing the presence of the evil one, what you must do do it quickly.
Judas proceeds to fulfil the mission for which he was made a disciple by the Father(betraying the son of man) in order for what was written about him by the prophet Jeremiah to be fulfilled.
Judas' reason for being angry was not a taboo but habouring offence in his heart made him a tool for the enemy to enact his wicked acts. Unforgiveness is deadlier than we think it is family, the fruits of it is something we are never fully ready for.
Unforgiveness can move you into betraying your own without realising it.
Judas didn't realise he was a pun in the devil's scheme and his anger a bait to lure him in until he was done betraying Jesus then the spirit left him and he realised his mistake.
Judas' reason for betraying Jesus was so that he could make more money to compensate for Mary's ostentatiousness and also that he can help himself to some as he was a thief as well let's not forget. He didn't do it because he was a bad person or because he hated Jesus, he believed in Jesus too, way more than most of us do today. He saw the miracles Christ performed, they were more like brothers you know? They had personal conversations too but life happened.
There was a bounty placed for whoever it is that would betray Jesus and Judas' greed/anger played him right into it without knowing that a curse also awaits whosoever betrays Jesus from the Father.
Judas expected Christ to save himself as he thought he would when delivered to the Pharisees. He didn't know dying was Jesus' ultimate plan here on earth.
Even good people can become tools for the enemy tomorrow because of greed, offense, impatience excetra.. We should be kind towards our offenders and betrayers instead of judging them. Albeit some people are naturally evil, but some are not.
The moment Judas realized his wrongs he tried to fix it but by then it was already too late. The deed had been done and the people the enemy used threw Judas out the moment he came to them to complain about the mistakes they were all making.
See the enemy has no use for you the moment he is done with you. He sucks you dry and kicks you out in the cold the minute you run out of juice leaving you struggling and stranded. He is void of compassion, he lacks the ability to cover your weaknesses instead he capitalises on them. Only God is strong in your weakness the enemy makes you weaker to the point of death. His goal is to KILL STEAL and DESTROY!!
Let's not give him a chance. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places?
That person you're about to or have betrayed, the one who you knew was innocent yet your mind was/is perverse towards them, i want you to know the enemy is only trying to destroy you should you go on with it and if you have it's not too late to go and seek forgiveness. You may think you're being smart but in reality you're being outsmarted by the kingdom of darkness.
I pray you extend a heart of mercy towards anyone who has offended you and commit them into God's hands. The Bible says vengeance is mine saith the Lord! Set them free so you can be free too. Let God repay them in their own coin.
Remember forgiveness does not mean reuniting with them, still maintain distance but forgive them just as Christ forgave you.
The End!!
Shalom Shalom.
